Trip from Oakland Beach Boat Ramp to Prudence and Patience Islands: a scenic cruise. Saturday, August 20. Butts in boats at 9:30. Bring a lunch.

14 miles with Potter Cove, or 10 miles with an exploration of the tween-islands cove, depending on participant inclinations. I know the routes so will happily do either.

This is not an official RICKA outing because I'm not a certified guide. However, we will follow club protocols for safety. Summer weekends bring boat traffic that we will cross through on the half-hour crossing from Warwick Neck Lighthouse to the tip of Patience.

For information about the put in, likely water conditions, and directions see RI’s Blueways and Greenways site https://exploreri.org/siteReport.php?sit...c=criteria. Or Google “Oakland Beach Boat Ramp.”

This site touts parking for hand carry boaters in the “Vehicles with trailers” lot. We will try to fully occupy a trailer parking space with 2 or 3 vehicles. Look for us. You may drive to the ramp to unload, then park. Be efficient: it’s a very busy area with serious motor boaters in and out of the water. We’ll assemble at the sandy beach alongside the ramp.
