RI shoreline access
#1
Is anyone actively involved in the ongoing issue of shoreline access rights by the public?  This important topic should be of deep interest for sea kayakers.

Hi Cam--
I'm very interested in this issue. As far as I can tell, the Coastal Resources Center's guide is the most recent publication that lays out the access points, although RI Sea Grant has a 2016 interactive app described as a "digital update." URI has hosted a couple of webinars recently and there's a third one coming up (I don't know when).
Also, I just finished reading about the Sapowet permit applications...yikes.
Did you have any specific actions in mind? If so, let me know if I can help.

A URI research project is seeking RI- and MA-based recreational water users to participate in one of three virtual focus groups August 10, 11, or 13 to share their views on aquaculture and other coastal uses. Through these virtual focus groups, researchers hope to learn more about what people think and feel about different types and sizes of aquaculture farms. Focus group participants will be entered to win a $100 gift card. For more information, see the attached flyer or visit this link.
