Hi Cam
I'm a competent paddler and do some rock-play.  I'm driving from Weymouth MA and curious how long the paddle might be time-wise just to make sure its worth the drive?

If 4 hours or so I'm in.  Also, being new to RICKA how would the group feel if the paddle ended early but I wanted to stay out solo.  I'm comfortable w/ the risk and distance.

Hi Bob. A typical paddle from Ft Wetherill lasts about 4-5 hours, or a bit longer - depending on group consensus and energy levels. We should be back to the put-in around 3-3:30.  We prefer to go out as a single group, stay together, and come back with the same number of paddlers -or more, not less ;-) Please note the posted time, 9:30, is the launch time.  We recommend arriving 30 minutes before, to download boats and gear up. I'm in Medfield MA, not quite as far from the RI coast as Weymouth but close.  I've always found the RICKA paddles to be worth the drive.
