Launching and exiting your kayak from a dock is not an easy task.
The first thing that I found out is that it's very unstable and the kayak can easily scoot away from the dock leaving you in the water. ( been there and done that )
I looked up launching aides from a dock and they range in price from $300- $3,000. I had a brilliant idea recently and tried lashing a rope from the kayak's perimeter
lines to the stanchion on the dock and kept it tight ,right against the dock. I could easily get in and get out without ending up in the water. It's an easy solution.
Just thought I'd share my discovery simple as it is.
Has anyone else experienced issues with dock exits and launching?
