Can I ask a question about this event? I paddled with RICKA a few years ago including Level 3 trips like King's Beach and Sekonnet Pt including some rock play and mild surf. But I took a few years off and then just started paddling again this summer. I'm doing flat water paddles of up to about 8 miles, could do a few more if I took a break for lunch. I'm looking to get back into SW. Do you think this paddle would be appropriate for former L3 paddle that is currently working on building back endurance?

Hi Ken,

Yes, absolutely. I think this will be a great opportunity for you to get reacquainted with Level 3 paddling.  We won’t be doing anything crazy. Mostly a chance to have some fun and experience some moving water and maybe some gentle rock play for those who are interested and have a helmet!

Hope to see you there!

Rick

Dear Leigh, thanks for your questions -- please do join us! As Rick said nothing crazy, everyone will have fun and have the chance to push themselves a bit into new (or renewed) skills. We'll be responsive to paddlers' interests and goals.

Good Morning guys..

Is this a Beavertail paddle?  Can't imagine I'd be ready for that, unless it is a day with calmer seas than what I've seen in videos Smile

Hi Dave, No, this is not a Beavertail paddle.  We will head out from the URI Bay Campus and will stay along the western shore of the Bay, which should give us an opportunity to experience some swell and moving water and perhaps explore some gentle rock play, for those who are so inclined.  Mostly, this will be a learning opportunity tailored to the interests and experience of group members.  Check out the message board for further details and weather updates.
