Please join us for a paddle before the RICKA picnic on Saturday Sept. 25. We will launch from North Kingstown Beach at 9:30am. Because RICKA has the venue for the picnic, we can park and launch right at the beach, what a treat!
Depending on conditions, I would like to paddle to Hope Island and explore. Because of the potential crossing, this will be a Level 3 trip. If anyone is interested in a Level 2, the flatwater group will be going out of Wilson Park, one of our regular level 2 launch spots (I think they have a 10am launch).
Hope IsLand has an interesting history (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hope_Isl...de_Island)) and Tony Moore posted a nice video of a paddle there: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2U2WmyDc70
You can join either the paddle, or the picnic, or both, or you can paddle and have your family join you at the picnic (sign up to order picnic lunches by Sept 17). RICKA chose this picnic location intentionally to get more sea kayaker participation, so please join us, it will be fun!
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Brenda (rickaseakayak@gmail.com)
