Potters Cove 8/26 - Rich C. - 08-20-2023
Saturday, August 26th, Sea Kayaking, level 2 - Joint paddle with the RICKA Flatwater paddlers.
Potter Cove in Jamestown. Meet at 9:00 for a Prompt 9:30 launch. Bring a lunch.
Coordinators: (Sea Kayak) Rich Coupland (rlcoupland@msn.com, 401-595-1175) and (Flatwater) Cheryl Thompson (stonefoxfarm@juno.com 401-497-5887).
The Potters Cove put-in is off Freebody Drive, Jamestown, at the west end of the Pell Bridge. (GPS: 41.509643811163194, -71.3624638294806)
The paddle will follow the shoreline south, under the bridge, and past the Jamestown Pier public docks. Lunch will be at a small beach near The Dumplings rocks (5 mile round trip), with an option to continue to Fort Wetherill (2 additional miles RT). Also plan to stop for ice cream on the way back.
We will stay near shore to avoid boat traffic, but be prepared for boat wakes of a foot or so.

Hi everyone. I'm looking forward to the Potters Cove paddle on Saturday. we'll be at The Dumplings during peak flood, so there may be play opportunities.

Unfortunately the weather is not cooperating. There are scattered thunderstorms predicted for mid-day tomorrow. I talked with Cheryl, and we agreed it would be best to cancel the paddle.
