Anybody up for a level 2-3 paddle for Saturday? From where and what time?

Sure, Fred, I'll go —  I've got a new Greenland paddle I want to get wet. The wind comes up later in the day — how about an afternoon paddle to take advantage of rising conditions. Yes, I know this is to be a level 2-3, but for me, the more active the water the better.

I prefer a 10:00 a.m. paddle and to be off the water no later than 3:00 p.m. The marine forecast if 5-10 kt for Saturday, but no matter where we launch from, the wind will pick likely up by noon. I'm thinking of launching from either URI Bay Campus or Sapowet Cove Beach in Tiverton (Sakonnet Passage).

Since it's a holiday weekend, parking might be problematic at the URI Bay Campus. Consequently, I'm leaning toward paddling from Sapowet and heading south with the outgoing tide. Is that good for you, John? Any others?

URI sounds good to me.
What's the Riverton launch site? I don't think I know that one.

Sapowet Cove Beach is in Tiverton, north of Fogland Point. See: http://www.kayakaccessri.info/mapserver/sapowet_cove.htm

Anyway, since many of you live closer to URI Bay Campus, we can launch there. For me, I can drive to Tiverton in roughly the same time as to URI. It's not a big deal.

Yes, Carleen, we'll launch from the URI Bay Campus at 10:00 a.m. I look forward to paddling with everyone.  :)

Fred, I apologize for not telling you that I would not be coming on today's Saturday paddle, after telling you that I would. My bad. I hope that there was no inconvenience.

John, you missed a good paddle today. The wind and water kicked up a bit on the way back to the put-in, which gave my new GEARLAB Nukilik paddle a good workout. I review that and my other GEARLAB paddle here soon.
