Sunday paddle--level 2-3
« on: July 14, 2017, 07:42:19 PM »

For those folks who are looking for level 2-3 paddles. I'll be paddling from Knowles Beach (about 200 yds. south after you turn from Gulf Rd.) on Smith Neck Rd. in Dartmouth, MA on Sunday 7/16. Launch at 10:00 a.m. Hope to see a few people there.  :)

Hi Fred.  Planning on it.  Be gentle!  I'm elderly!

I believe I may be more elderly, so we'll try to keep it close to level 2.  ;)

Limited Access to Knowles Beach

Be aware that the Padanaram Bridge is closed for renovation.  You can only approach Knowles Beach from the west via Gulf Road (or from the south via Smith Neck Road if you want to take the scenic route).

Directions:
Exit 12 from I-195 Eastbound
Right onto Faunce Corner Road
Cross Route 6 (State Road) & continue straight onto Chase Road
Left onto Russells Mills Road
Right onto Gulf Road
Right onto Smith Neck Road
Knowles Beach is on the left, parking on the right

Thanks, Cat, I think most of us would take Gulf Rd. from the west. I usually take the Faunce Corner Rd. exit on Rte 195 when I'm in that neck of MA.

Hi Ron, yes, it was a fun day and a perfect day to be on the water. The sculptures you mentioned are interesting in that you have to be underwater to view them--a challenging but nice concept.

For future Show & Go paddles, there are a few nice nooks and crannies to explore in Buzzards Bay. Stay tuned....  ;)
