Sunday "Slog n' Surf
« on: October 31, 2014, 09:56:54 PM »

Very windy conditions for Sunday, I plan on paddling north into the wind, then riding the chop back. There are several good places to safely do this, such as launch at the Bay Campus and head north, or launch at Ft Getty and head north...maybe even Third Beach and head north...I haven't yet decided exactly where, but am open to any suggestions. I plan on hugging the coast, so it should be a safe paddle, although in extreme conditions. Anyone else interested in this type of paddle?

Head's Beach, boat launch area, Jamestown R.I., 11AM (be sure to set your clocks back an hour tonight!). Plan is to play and surf under piers and around the Jamestown Bridge, where it gets very interesting with significant chop (which we should have). There are many points for any emergency landings, so it should be a safe paddle, albeit physically demanding due to the high winds.
