An Easier Going Sunday?
« on: November 10, 2011, 08:31:54 PM »

Cat posted a level 3-4 trip for Sunday with rocks and surf (see previous post). I'm just getting over a cold, hoping I'll be strong by Sunday, but I'll still be looking for a surfless paddle somewhere. Anyone else interested? Perhaps somewhere in the Bay's West Passage?

I might be interested in paddling on the bay Sunday.

It looks like the cowboys are going to Stone Bridge on Saturday.  I'll join you if no one else RSVPs for King's Beach  :)

Correct. A small group, max current between 10 and noon. I'll be there around 9:30.

I hope you all have fun today at Stone Bridge!

Tomorrow (Sunday) I plan to be at the Bay Campus at 10:00 for a 10:30 launch. I expect to hug the shore going north to stay as much out of the SW wind as possible. The tide will be going out, so we'll head against it paddling north, and then ride it coming back.

The winds are predicted to blow at 10-15 with gusts up to 25 so I won't be going without at least one (preferably two) other paddler(s). If no one confirms that they're planning on paddling with me, I'll just cancel. Thanks!

So much for an easier going Sunday.  I was just checking out the Bay Campus around 1 pm.  It was blowing a steady 25 kts.

   Hi Tim!
On Saturday it got pretty windy at Stone Bridge toward the end of the session. Made it difficult, because as the current increased, and you needed your paddle more often for control / bracing, you had to consider how the wind was going to affect the blades. I left for work soon after the conditions started getting more extreme, but I saw the rest of you out there with increasingly extreme conditions. How was it?
